Dear parents and students,
Welcome back to the Big Apple Academy, a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School!
Time flies fast, and the relaxing summer days are coming to an end.  As nature is slowly changing its dress code, I embrace the opportunity to welcome all our students into our educational community.

I would like to extend my special greetings to the parents of 2019-2020 Kindergarten Class. Your children will launch into an exciting, yet a challenging journey navigating through an entirely new academic world. Please allow your children some time to adjust to our rigorous learning routine.

In addition, I would like to extend my special greetings to our future graduates who are entering eighth grade this year. They will face another challenging academic year marked with an intense schedule and hectic preparations for the Regents Examinations. Please note that the school year of 2020 will be the last one when the Big Apple Academy offers to its students the U.S. History and Government Regents Exam based on the old format. This school year, we will launch some elements of the new Regents Program implemented in our seventh grade. The program will culminate in June of 2021 with the U.S. History and Government Regents Framework, the new exam developed by the State of New York.

As usual, we will continue to honor our star students’ academic achievements. The Dean’s List will display the names of all students who score between 90 and 94% in all core subject areas combined. Students who accumulate GPA of 95 % and above will be placed on the Principal Honor Roll. Both lists will be generated at the end of the third academic term.

As we transition into a new academic year, please remember that we sincerely appreciate and encourage your parental involvement.
