“We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.”

Dear Parents,

With the holiday season right around the corner, we are thinking of those people who are less fortunate. Underprivileged New Yorkers long for warmth, kindness, and compassion that are associated with the upcoming holidays. The NYC Coalition for the Homeless daily gathers information on New York City's homeless population. In recent years, homelessness and the number of people living below the poverty line have skyrocketed to the levels only comparable to the era of the Great Depression. In September 2019, the number of homeless people in NYC reached 62, 321. This alarming number includes 22, 083 children without a permanent place of residence. The Big Apple Academy participates in the "Toys for Tots" program that collects toys for underprivileged children. We are inviting you to join us in our efforts to serve our city's communities. Please donate a new toy, preferably one that is packaged in a box, for homeless children residing in New York City. Let's join our efforts in brightening their holidays and putting smiles on their faces.

The deadline for the "Toys for Tots" Project is Monday, December 16th.

We genuinely appreciate your family's generous contribution!

Sincerely,
Vlad Gorny
Principal
