Welcome to the Big Apple Academy’s SHSAT informational link!
For many parents and students interested in pursuing high school education in specialized high schools of New York City, the SHSAT exam and its successful completion is the only determination to be accepted in these elite schools.
There are nine specialized high schools in New York City in total. Fiorello H. Laguardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts is the only school that determines acceptance based upon auditions as opposed to the SHSAT scores alone. The following seven schools require a passing SHSAT score: the Stuyvesant High School, Brooklyn Technical High School, Bronx High School of Science, The Brooklyn Latin School, High School for Mathematics, Science and Engineering at the City College of New York, High School of American Studies at Lehman College, Staten Island Technical High School and Queens High School for the Sciences at York College.
The Big Apple Academy staff provides all parents and students with the necessary information and guidance in the important decision making process for application to the schools named above.
More so, the Big Apple Academy academic curricula in Mathematics and English Language Arts includes a uniquely developed module of study in preparation for the SHSAT exam.
As a result, for more than twenty years, more than 60% of Big Apple’s graduates are accepted to these schools.
