Scholarship program

The important information about CSF’s Teddy J. Forstmann Scholarship (TJF) program

2020-2021 Requal application deadline extended to July 24th

July 24th is the new deadline for returning families to submit requal applications for the 2020-21 school year. Families who either had not submitted an application or have yet to complete their requal application were notified of the new deadline last Friday.

The email notification included a quick how-to apply video in English and Spanish. Both videos are below. Watch videos if you need help or you may have missed CSF’s email.

Families will only be eligible for a scholarship award when:

1)      their online requal application is completed,

2)    all of their income & supporting documents have been submitted to CSF, and

3)    Big Apple Institute Inc. completes the School Commitment Form (SCF).

2020-2021 New scholarship applications

The budget has been approved for the new 2020-2021 applications!

As a reminder, a student is eligible for a new scholarship award if:

1)      The student is starting grade K for the first time, grade K as defined by the NYC Department of Education. Or, the student is entering grades 1-8 and is currently attending a public or charter school.

2)      The family meets the financial eligibility guidelines.

Scanning documents using a cellphone & notarized documents

In an effort to help the many families who rely on our school’s front office for assistance in emailing or faxing documents and who cannot do so now, CSF has shared with our families instructions on how to scan documents with a cellphone. Below are the images in English and Spanish.

Also, given the state of current affairs, CSF is not requiring notarized letters as part of the application process. For families who have needed to submit notarized letters in the past, they may submit their financial support letters without a notary stamp.

The CSF office is CLOSED, all staff members are working remotely. Please email or fax your documents to CSF and do NOT mail documents to CSF’s office.
